Mark,

While it's laudable that you posted sections, you had better spent your time to focus on the analysis and conceptual boards last week. At this point you are missing a strong foundation that gives a rationale to your design.

You took care to draw a "believable" section (elevator pit and details, elevation tags, token structure, ...), but without showing a. the most important section (the one through the center with the public circulation)and b. any context. This could have been easily be remedied by posting drafts by mid week!

Rather than focus your energy on irrelevat details (irrelevant relative to the site, program and your theme) focus on what's needed to get your theme across. So far you are concentrated on the building, but you need to include the site, the program and your theme strongly into the account! This is the objective of the studio.

Please make sure to post more regulary and work on the areas that I outline at the beginning of each week. This is not an independent study! At the end it's not the object that counts, but the relationships it addresses and enables!

Mark –

It seems that the building has transformed quite a bit over the last week or so. I would like to see a perspective or elevation of what it has become.

I am having a little trouble finding a connection between the actually building that is on the lower level of the plaza and the upper level of the plaza. The building has curvature to it and then on the top of the plaza, the trees are very uniform and do not necessarily have a connection to the building (besides a pathway).

Keep going on it, it will get there. Mine certainly isn’t there yet, but it will be.

Talk to you soon.

Mark,
Very clean sections. I wish I could see how this building relates to the site in section. Not sure how the heights compare to the surroundings or the massing. It would also be great to see more context in the plans.
